Atlas (Saturn
XV) - a small, inner moon of Saturn, disco vered by Richard J. Terrile in 1980, with photos from NASAs Voyag er 1 Its name comes from the name of the Titan Atlas of Greek myt hology, who held the sky above the Earth. Atlas high quality phot os taken in June 2005 by Cassini showed the moon-shaped saucer, with a high back covering around the equator. It was probably a result of subsidence on the moon material encountered in the orbital motion.
